Troubleshooting

Every pet learns at a different pace. Here's how to handle common challenges.

Your Pet Needs More Time

If your pet resists a step, return to the previous one and spend more time there. Progress is not always linear. Repeat any day as many times as needed before moving forward. A shorter, positive session is always better than a forced one.

30 days is a path, not a test.

End This Session

Stop the session immediately if your pet shows any of the following:

  • Strong resistance or attempts to pull away
  • Attempts to bite
  • Visible distress — trembling, cowering, or vocalising in distress
  • Excessive drooling or panting

End with something positive — a reward or calm praise — and try again the next day with a shorter, easier step.

Contact Your Veterinarian

Consult your veterinarian if you notice any of the following:

  • Bleeding gums that do not resolve quickly
  • Loose or broken teeth
  • Unusual swelling around the mouth or jaw
  • Persistent bad breath that does not improve
  • Your pet refuses to eat or shows pain when chewing

Home brushing supports oral health but does not replace regular veterinary dental examinations.
